Camping

The LS team (except for me taking the photo) on our yearly camping trip, relaxing in the sun in the beautiful fresh mountain water in Matacanes.

One of the highlights for the kids was the fishing, they would fish with nets as there were plenty of little to medium size fish. They caught seven altogether.

The water was crisp and crystal clear, a beautiful swimming experience!

We took a 2 and a half day trip to Matacanes. Its about an hour and some drive from off the highway up to mountain, then driving on rough terrain down to where you can drive no further. From there we all hiked for 30 minutes over rocky terrain till we reach a spot big and flat enough to set up a campsite comprising of 4 tents and a food set up.

The kids have been psyched about this trip for weeks, preparing all their camping supplies into their water backpacks etc.

It took the guys a couple trips to haul all the luggage and coolers over to the site, but we made it and got set up before night fall, diner -- barbeque steak and ice cold beer.

The next day was spent fishing, swimming, and a 4 hour hike to the waterfalls and caves, I stayed at the campsite with Gareth, taking him swimming, napping and such.

On the last day we hike for 15 minutes to a bigger section of water it was so beautiful, it reminded me of the Mediterranean sea a bit, just the color and all. We enjoyed an afternoon with water games and relaxation.

Over all it was an excellent trip and delightful time spent together.
