Consider the Needy -- Guadalupe
On the 17th of August we did a project in the city of Guadalupe in colonia “Valle de los Sabinas”.
We took clothing, shoes, toys, sewing supplies, art and craft materials etc. We invited the mothers to come and collect items for their family. There were a noticeable amount of very young mothers in this area that couldn’t have been older then 18. Our hearts went out to these ones, we talked with those that we could plus helping them to find baby things etc.
The brand new windbreakers were a real hit, all the children lined up to pick out a color, they were very excited to take them home.
Guadalupe is the western part of the state of Nuevo Leon, adjacent to Monterrey, the state capital. Guadalupe is within the Monterrey metropolitan area.
It still amazes me that there is the rich rich area's of town, and at the same time that there is this kind of impoverished communities too.
